In today's fast-paced and competitive world, it is easy to become consumed by the desire for success, recognition, and approval from others. However, as followers of Christ, we are called to a higher standard. Colossians 3:23 reminds us to approach our work with excellence and dedication, not for the praise of men, but as an act of worship unto the Lord. Today, let us reflect on the importance of doing all things heartily for God's glory.
A Heart of Excellence:
Excellence is not merely a pursuit of perfection or the desire to outshine others. It is an attitude of the heart—a commitment to give our best in everything we do, regardless of the task or the audience. When we approach our work with excellence, we demonstrate our love and devotion to God, acknowledging that He deserves nothing less than our very best.
Doing It "As to the Lord":
The key to maintaining a heart of excellence is to shift our focus from pleasing men to pleasing God. In whatever we do, whether it is in our careers, studies, relationships, or daily responsibilities, we are called to do it "as to the Lord."
