Devotion from the book of Exodus for June 24:

Verse: "And Moses said to the people, 'Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.'" - Exodus 14:13

Title: Trusting God's Deliverance

Devotion:

Dear brothers and sisters,

Exodus 14:13 recounts a significant moment in the history of the Israelites as they stood before the Red Sea with the Egyptian army pursuing them. Faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles and imminent danger, Moses encouraged the people not to be afraid but to trust in God's deliverance.

Like the Israelites, we may find ourselves confronted with situations that appear overwhelming, leaving us feeling trapped and afraid. It is precisely in those moments that God calls us to trust Him completely, to stand firm in faith, and to witness His mighty deliverance.

The command to "stand still" may seem counterintuitive when we face challenges. Our natural inclination is to act, to find a way out or take matters into our own hands. However, God often asks us to pause, to cease striving, and to allow Him to work on our behalf. It is in our stillness and surrender that we can witness the salvation of the Lord unfold before us.

God's deliverance is not contingent upon our own abilities or resources. It is the result of His power, sovereignty, and faithfulness. Just as the Israelites witnessed the miraculous parting of the Red Sea and their escape from the pursuing Egyptians, we too can experience God's deliverance in our lives.

In times of fear and uncertainty, let us fix our eyes on the Lord and trust in His promises. Let us remember that He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way. As we stand still, we allow God to demonstrate His power, wisdom, and love in our circumstances.

May this verse encourage us to trust in God's deliverance, even when the obstacles before us appear insurmountable. May we find peace in knowing that the Lord is fighting for us, and no enemy can stand against Him. Let us stand still, with unwavering faith, and witness the salvation of the Lord in our lives.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, in moments of fear and uncertainty, help me to trust in Your deliverance. Give me the strength to stand still and surrender to Your will. May I fix my eyes on You, knowing that You are faithful and mighty to save. Fill me with peace as I witness Your salvation unfolding in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May you find courage and peace as you trust in God's deliverance and stand still, allowing Him to work mightily on your behalf. May you witness His salvation and experience His faithfulness in every aspect of your life.
