Devotion from the Book of Joshua for June 28

Verse: "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." - Joshua 1:9 (KJV)

Devotion:

The book of Joshua is filled with accounts of bravery, faith, and God's faithfulness. As Joshua stepped into the leadership role after Moses, he faced great challenges and uncertainties. But in the midst of it all, God spoke these powerful words to him: "Be strong and of good courage... for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

In our own lives, we encounter various seasons of change, transition, and unknown territories. It can be intimidating to face new challenges, make important decisions, or step into unfamiliar roles. But just as God assured Joshua of His presence, He reassures us as well.

God's command to be strong and courageous is not based on our own abilities or circumstances. It is rooted in the truth that He is with us wherever we go. He goes before us, prepares the way, and walks alongside us in every step we take.

When fear and doubt attempt to hold us back, we can find strength in knowing that the Almighty God is our constant companion. He empowers us to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and fulfill His purposes for our lives.

Let us remember that God's presence brings courage and confidence. We can trust in His promises, rely on His guidance, and lean on His strength. With God by our side, we need not be afraid or dismayed. He is our source of unwavering strength and peace.

As we meditate on Joshua 1:9, let it serve as a reminder to be strong and courageous in our daily lives. Trust in the Lord's presence and His faithfulness. Embrace His guidance and rely on His strength. Walk forward with confidence, knowing that He is with us every step of the way.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your constant presence in our lives. Help us to be strong and courageous, trusting in Your faithfulness and relying on Your strength. When we face challenges or uncertainties, remind us that You are with us wherever we go. Give us the confidence to step forward in faith, knowing that You go before us and walk beside us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
